Amber Cady is an artist and psychotherapist based in San Francisco.
She graduated with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from The San Francisco Art Institute and received a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.
Her work, as an artist and clinician, explores the affective experiences that make up the self.
Focusing on acts that assemble, disassemble, or transform perspectives on selfhood, her attention is centered in the complex ways humans navigate the forces that shape their understanding of who they are.
And how then that self-understanding shapes the relationships those selves have to the worlds they inhabit.
She explores this through video, sound, painting, poetry, and the practice of psychotherapy.
