The Marker's Mark | Drawing for Self-Reflection

  • Manos 1582 43rd Ave, San Francisco, CA 94122 (map)

When we think of drawing, whether abstract, realistic, or surreal, we tend to think of it as a means of representing something. A thing in front of us. A vision or idea in our minds. But what if we flipped that artistic process on its head? What if we used drawing as a means of getting at a deeper understanding of ourselves? What can we learn about who we are, what's on our minds and in our hearts, by sketching?

Join me for an experimental life drawing workshop focused on the process of observing as opposed to the goal of representing something perfectly. Through experiential exercises and group discussion, see what you can learn about yourself by what you put down to paper. Noticing how the nuances of our unique experiences define our material world just as much as what’s actually in front of us.

You'll leave this workshop with the new materials and exercises to make drawing an integral daily practice of observation and self-awareness.
